Homework for Wednesday, February 28

Assignment: Math Survey - online
The survey is IN TeacherEase, so go there and you will find a link to the questions via the assignment name! In other words, go to teacherease.com, log in to your account, and take the survey!
This is an effort based grade, but frankly, it's because I want your feedback!!!!
Plan to spend actual, effortful, 3 - 5 minutes per question. If you don't have time to finish it in one sitting, don't "submit it," and go back later.
P.S. Don't forget to submit it when you are done!
Due Thursday or Friday, you pick.

Homework for Tuesday, February 27

Assignment: One Quizlet set in "Write" mode
This assignment is relative to how you did on the Fraction test.
*If you missed more than 4 questions, you are expected to do one of the fraction sets:
Fraction Addition, Fraction Subtraction, Fraction Multiplication, Fraction Division, Simplifying Fractions, Fraction Applications, or Fraction Mixed Review
*If you missed 4 or fewer questions, you may opt to do the "Verbal Expressions - pre-algebra level" set or the "PF, GCF, LCM" set from my pre-algebra group.
I will send you a link to the pre-algebra group if you request one via email!

Complete 10 questions correctly in "Write" mode and email (or print) me a screenshot of the results page. Do your best to use all of the "control p," or snipping tools you can navigate to do this. If it's a burden for you, just write me a note or email as usual.

Homework for Monday, February 26

Assignment: TEST CORRECTIONS - Link!
Please be sure to correct your corrections correctly.
Seriously.
This time you are to:
a) identify the skill - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
b) identify your error.
Examples: Adding: not finding a common denominator, Division: not flipping the second fraction, Simplifying: arithmetic errors.
It is super important that you not make the same mistakes over and over again. Like we talked about in class today, mend your holes!
Due Tuesday
Consider checking your "grade" in math as you decide whether or not you want to retest. While your grade is not everything, you might find yourself a fraction (get it?) away from where you want to be or comfortably in a zone you are happy with. You need to KNOW this material, but for some of you it is not really necessarily necessary to earn back a single point that will impact your grade in a minuscule way. If you have any questions about this, please ask me tomorrow!

Assignment: Fraction Review Choice #2
Hopefully, you did not lose the one you asked for at school today because these take awhile to produce, but the choice is yours! Yes, you may do more than one for your point bank if you desire.
Cumulative Review - a little bit of (almost) everything. Simplifying your answers should be assumed. - Link!
LCM of Monomials - This assignment is not for the weak of heart. In fact, it is only an option for those of you who have already practiced factor trees with variables and GCFs with variables and multiplying monomials. If that's you, this is the LINK!
Basically, you are to practice whatever your needs are in preparation for the Fraction test next Thursday, February 22. Check back and I'll post links to what I have as I create them.

Homework for Wednesday, Valentine's Day

Assignment: Fraction Review Choice
I'm checking through my online options to see what I can offer here, so hopefully, you did not lose the one you asked for at school today ...
Basic Review - This is the basics, only, if you still need them. Link!
Check back and I'll post links to what I have as I unearth them.

Homework for Tuesday, February 13

Assignment: Applications with Sven - Link!
Read these problems carefully ... are you answering the question? The question is repeated as a leading sentence at the bottom of the problem, so fill in the blank appropriately!
The arithmetic is not the difficult part.

Homework for Monday, February 12

Assignment: Fraction Division choice
Guess what? The option I have available here is different from the copies I handed out in class today. Consider the levels equal although this one could substitute for option A. ;-)
Option B: Link!
I cannot guarantee that I will get the other levels posted, but this suffices for test level expectations, so you're good to go regardless.

Homework for Thursday, February 8

Assignment: Draw Four, Check One (the title is the link)
Draw Four:  First complete the four problems using VISUAL models on ANOTHER sheet of paper.  We have practiced this skill, so the expectation is that you will be able to represent these stories in this way.  Only after you have a visual should you apply the numbers and come up with your answer.
Ultimately you should have an answer, but its correctness is only half of the value of the points.  The other half is showing me how you worked through the problems using your visual cues.
Check One:  Select one of the problems to have an older sibling, neighbor, or adult solve ... essentially a non-NOVA person.  Give them the problem (and a piece of paper?) and encourage them to show you all of their work so you can see their thinking.  Feel free to ask questions afterward if you do not understand what they did, but in general, you should be able to tell.
Then your task is to analyze their work.  Did they work it out in the same way as you did or differently?  Were there common elements in your work?  Did they use all numbers or did they represent it visually too?  Did you even get the same answer?!?!  Write at least three sentences of your observations; you may write these directly on their work page.
P.S. You can give the problems out to multiple people if you want to, just to see how they will do.  ;-)
Have fun!

Homework for Wednesday, February 7

Assignment: Fraction Subtraction Choice
Where are you in your subtraction of fractions? Practice where your needs are.
A - Subtracting Unlike Fractions - Link!
Fractions only with unlike denominators. Basically the basics without the need for "borrowing."
B - Subtracting Fractions - Link!
A combination of fractions, improper fractions, whole numbers, and mixed numbers. They even give you a few problems with common denominators! However, there is some borrowing involved.
C - Subtracting Mixed Numbers 27 - Link!
Mixed numbers with a few whole numbers thrown in, meaning all sorts of stuff. You may solve these AS mixed numbers or write them in improper form, your choice.

Homework for Tuesday, February 6

Assignment: Nefarious Nikita - LINK!
Note the slight name change in the title of this assignment? There are a few details changed as well, but nothing that changes the arithmetic of these problems.
Make sure you write the equation as well as your solution. Practice!

Homework for Monday, February 5

Assignment: Fraction Addition!
*Fraction Addition Basics - Rusty? New to the concept? Need to review before you did in deeply? This worksheet covers the basics (with unlike fractions) and not much else.
Links to other assignment options are unavailable. If you lost yours, or you are Ian, you will need to either do this one or pick a different one up in class from me. Sorry!

Homework for Thursday, February 1

Assignment: Simple Choices
Today's homework should reflect your needs in fraction multiplication: from simplifying to mixed numbers to variables! Unfortunately, I was hoping to get a copy of the variable option online, but I do not have a digital copy and the hard copy is at school. You can get one from me tomorrow if you would like!
