Weekend homework news, 1/30

Trans Math: Quizlet!
*Coming soon to a classroom near you ....

Pre-Algebra: Post-Pop-Quiz
Mr. Kenis & I have decided to move on in the text as the majority of students did well on the quiz and do not need further instruction in scientific notation. However ...

*If you chose NOT to count your pop quiz score, you have an assignment to complete by February 12: Pg. 212 & 213, problems 30 - 47.
*This will be a percentage based grade that will be added to your homework average.
*If you change your mind and would rather have your pop quiz count, please let me know.
*If you already chose to count your pop quiz score, those have been entered in your grade reports.
*If you were absent on Friday, January 30, you will have the option of taking the pop quiz during Gruel OR completing the above assignment.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Homework for Friday, 1/8?

Trans Math: no, but ...
*This is just a reminder that the negatives unit test will be on Tuesday. Some of you could still use some practice!
*If you're interested, there is a website you can go to that has some practice questions: http://www.softschools.com/math/games/
*Once there, select the middle school page. Then try either "Integers and Real Numbers Practice Test" or "Order of Operations." Do be careful of the absolute value signs in some of the problems ... I didn't notice them the first time I took it!
*I haven't found any great game practice pages for this unit, but please let me know if you do so we can post them here.

Pre-Algebra: other than the 10-page packet ... ?
*No, there is no homework
*Keep up the good work & check Teacherease to make sure you have turned in all of your corrected assignments.
(there are still 2 assignments on the "No Name" wall)

NOVA basketball games start this weekend. Good luck to our 3 teams!
Have a fabulous weekend everyone,
Mo ;-)

After creating your factor trees ...
- # = Write the numbers (monomials) on the lines
- List the prime factorizations without exponents
- Circle the common factors between them
- GCF - Find the greatest common factor by multiplying the circled factors together (one circle counts as one factor, not two)
*Don't confuse yourselves! It's as simple as we did it in class.

QUESTION: Is it possible to have the greatest common factor as 1?
ANSWER: YES
Due: Friday
