Homework for Tuesday, April 30

Folder: Health Care-
Make your choice! That's all I have to say. ;-)

STOCKS!  - Link
Tonight you are to buy TWO different stocks, buying as many shares altogether that you spend close to your allotted $10,000. You MUST use the prices we calculated in class today, so hopefully you took plenty of notes. Otherwise, you can ask someone in YOUR class for any of the stocks and prices we looked up together.
This will take some fiddling around with the numbers, so keep playing. You can buy one share of a single stock then the rest of the other, or you could buy 50 of one stock and the rest of the other ... etc. Figure out ways to be efficient, one of which is using a calculator!!!
*The math needs to be correct. Right?

*This assignment may not be redone, so be sure to read each entry carefully and use the guidelines on page 52 as needed.
Folder -
Home Improvement - Link!
The devil is in the details. Be sure to list each item you purchase, the website you used, and details. that describe which item you purchased. The cost goes in the right-hand column.
YES, you may purchase more than three items, but EACH ITEM must be different. In other words, buying three chairs in different colors does not count as buying three different items.

Homework for Thursday, April 18

#10) Back to the Future: page 41 (book)
This assignment is to be done with and discussed with a parent or grandparent.  The point of it is the discussion that happens as you think of different savings scenarios.  Every question needs an answer.
*Note - some people like to answer the questions themselves and have their parents answer them too (in another color) in order to guide the discussion.  Your choice!

Folder: This assignment has full instructions on one side and the work page on the other side.  Please refer to the directions when your questions pop up ... it's much more efficient than waiting to talk to me and then having me point to the sentence on your page.  ;-)
Clothing - link!
Take special note of who you are buying for and what the specifications are.
You may only use the given websites.
You may shop at more than one website.
You must buy the minimum number of items, but you can buy as many items as you want unless you go over your budget!
Assume you are paying cash for your clothing purchases.

Homework for Monday, April 15

Folder Assignment:  Housing - link!
All of the directions are on this worksheet and you must abide by them.  Your grade is in the details ... did you assess your 10% down payment correctly? Did you use your lucky chance if you have one? Did your final payment fall between the minimum and maximum guidelines?
Read the worksheet and follow it step-by-step if you are confused.
Make sure you PRINT a picture of your house& details, plus the calculator and work. Then staple it to the back of your blue housing worksheet and turn it into the inbox when you are done.
Due Tuesday
*Although I am putting "due dates" on these, they are not "late" if not turned in the following day. The due dates are just guidelines for your book and folder assignments.

Budget and Register: Guidelines

Yes, it does matter which budget guidelines you use to set your budget with. Those of you with children and those of you without have different percentages representing many of your bigger purchases.
The good news is, if you completed the wrong one you can still use a lot of your answers on either worksheet ... 5% of a number is always 5% of that same number.
Budget Guidelines - WITH children
Budget Guidelines  - WITHOUT children
