Assignment: Kyle's Problem - Link!
Write a problem for Kyle using the information from his latest job.
We went over the details in class and they are outlined on the assignment sheet as well.

Homework for Tuesday, October 30
Assignment: Kyle B - Link!
Welcome to Kyle's world! Many of you will get frustrated with Kyle, but know that he is here to help you make sense of decimals. You may NOT use a calculator for these problems. While it might be painful, you'll be mathematically stronger because of him. ;-)
Kyle hints:
*Kyle does not live where he works.
*Kyle works a set number of hours per day, but not every day of the week.
*Kyle is an avid bike rider.
*Bus tickets are one-way only.
*Kyle changes employment often ... hence everything will change.
Take your time solving Kyle's problems. Are you using the correct operations? Is your arithmetic correct? Does your answer make sense?

Homework for Wednesday, October 17
Assignment: Quizlet
Complete 8 problems correctly in WRITE mode.
"Write" mode keeps track of the number you get correct; you also do not get the multiple choice and/or blank options you would in "test" mode. This is good. ;-)
The sets you may choose from are listed in order from least difficult to most complex.
Note that "Test Level" ops are the level you are expected to master by tomorrow!
*Central Tendencies
*Order of Ops - #1 basics
*Order of Ops - more basics
*Order of Ops - Test level
*Order of Ops with exponents
*Order of Ops - Challenge ops
You should work until you get 8 correct in "Write" mode.
To receive credit you have several options that we went over in class today:
1) send Mo an email that says, "I have completed 'x' Quizlet set," 2) take a screen shot and email it to me or 3) "print" the page and put it into Mo's basket (don't forget your name!), or 4) Turn in the paper where you worked the problems and identify which set you completed.
Due Thursday
*Come prepared for the test with whatever helps you relax and feel focused! Bring your confidence with you too. ;-)

Assignment: One of Two ...
Correct your pre-quiz -
Today you received your pre-quiz back. If you missed 3 or more problems, you are required to write out all of the steps and correct those that you missed.
*This is the assignment, it is not a "redone" assignment. It will be graded based upon the percentage of your redone problems that you redo correctly.
*The test looks a heckuva lot like this with different numbers ... imagine that! So make sure you understand each type of problem on this pre-quiz.
Reverse Operations - Link!
This assignment is for those who missed 2 or fewer on the pre-quiz. It is not easy and will take time in spite of their being only 6 equations. Work carefully and look for patterns ... try and try again.
*There may be MORE than one bracket per equation; insert as many as you need to reach the given solution.
(do check over any you missed on the pre-quiz to make sure you avoid those mistakes again!)

Assignment: Slugville - Link!
Today we practiced figuring out how manipulating data can be used "accurately" to make a statement. Whether or not we agree on the inference depends on how we think about the data.
In today's assignment, ALL of the candidates are using the same data and are truthful in their accounts, but each is using it differently. Identify what they did and then answer the follow-up questions.

Homework for Thursday, October 4
Assignment: Flea Market Frequencies - Link!
On this worksheet, you will see a list of 40 sale prices for items that were sold at the imaginary flea market. They are in random chaos order, but fortunately you are not required to organize them for this assignment ... unless you decide you need to? You will, however, be responsible for tallying each of the sold items in the appropriate boxes of the given frequency table.
*Note, the first four tallies on the list have been completed by the imaginary Finn & Francis, so you do not need to count them again!
One you have them all tallied, complete the Histogram (once again, the first four are done) by shading in the appropriate boxes, then answer the questions using whichever data set is easiest for you to use.
Do also note that the numerical data in the frequency table and the histogram are organized in bundles of information ... but they are still numerical ... right?
You may use color if you would like it to look interesting, but it is not required. ACCURACY of your tallies and histogram making is what matters.
