Homework for Monday, February 25

Stressed out by arithmetic? Wish you had more equations at your fingertips? Here they are! And you get to choose them ...

Assignment 1: Triangle Cards
Today you received 5 triangles and one rectangle.
The triangles are for math facts of your choice, like 4 x 6 = 24.
*note, this triangle works for multiplication, but also division, and also finding factors!
*By adding negatives, you can even include that reminder: -4 x -6 = 24 or -4 x 6 = -24
The ONLY thing that goes in the corner is the number because the cool thing is that these cards work in various orders.
*You may also make exponents or multiples of a number on your cards, but
Only three numbers, one per corner, may be on each side.
Troy, Zoe, and Danni, don't worry about these triangle cards; you can pick them up later.

Assignment 2: Nefarious Nikita 3 or 6
The primary difference between these two versions of this assignment is that "6" has you writing the single equations and "3" comes with the equations included.
FULLY READ the story so you can see how the final equations came about, whether or not you are writing them yourself. This is the future of math (applying it in various situations) but we our focus is on solving fractions overall.
Please select the one that works for you.
