Homework for Thursday, September 25

 Assignment: Favorite Pastimes

Due: Friday, September 26

Admittedly, this has been a busy, full week and I don't feel prepared to give the second decimal choice assignment yet. Today in class I am assessing where the group is so that on Monday, they have an appropriate set of assignments to choose from. This is how we roll!

Instead, we are going to begin inserting our graphing and statistics assignments into this unit. It gives time to let the lessons sink in while tying it all together. We are starting with a simple Venn diagram that is familiar to most students; it won't take long to move on to bigger and more exciting graphs.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Back-to-School night. I appreciated your feedback and hope that you will feel free to let me know anything else you'd like me to add into this blog. For you.

So, how can you help tonight?

*A Venn diagram is pretty straight-forward. Read through the categories and have them look for the overlaps. The outermost parts of the circles are the singular categories, so moving inward is where they look for (for example) people who own dogs AND cats versus just people who own cats. It's important to remember that they represent different people.

*Once you have gone over that, which we also did in class today, tell them to give it their best shot and see if they can make all of the puzzle pieces fit, then answer the questions. That's it!
