Homework for Thursday, 12/17
Trans Math: Temperatures in Iceland
*This was a half worksheet ... don't lose it!
*ALL of your work must be shown. Answers only will result in NO credit.
*Due Friday
Pre-Algebra: NO homework (yahoo!)
*check Teacherease later tonight for your retest scores!
(my guess? by 5:00)
*Also check to see if you are missing any assignments. It's a good thing to be all caught up before break, yes?

Homework for Wednesday, 12/16
Trans Math: Order of Operations WS
*Be careful to still apply the order of operations while working with negatives.
*There aren't very many problems on the worksheet, so focus on your accuracy!
*Due Thursday
Pre-Algebra: ??Study??
*Retest Thursday
*Okay, so I have TWO new set of problems up on Quizlet. You can follow the link at the right of this page; the groups are "Olympia Nova School" and/or "Olympia Nova School Pre-Alg". Both have the password of "Nova"
*I am working to make more problem sets ... while dealing with a massive headache.
*Is there anything I can post on this page to make life easier too?
*Stay tuned!

Homework for Tuesday, 12/15
Trans Math: Negative subtraction
*you should have received one of three assignments:
-I apologize, I still cannot post any of them online
-Due Wednesday
Pre-Algebra: Multi-step Inequalities
*This is the main page everyone needed practice with! Be prepared to check through all of it tomorrow in class.
*Again, I still can't post the worksheet here yet, but I heard that many of you did not pick up the worksheet from the back of the room. This will be a little extra work for you, but I have copied every problem and will post them here now. Please copy down every problem carefully before you work them. Be sure to graph your solutions ... there are multi-reasons for the errors that are still being made.
*Due Wednesday
Solving Multi-Step Inequalities
Solve each inequality and graph its solution.
1) 0 < 2p + 3p
2) -14 > −a + 4 − 5a
3) 0 ≥ −3 x − x
4) −2a − a ≥ −12
5) −4 p − 6 p <> 18
7) 32 + 2 x ≤ −4 x + 6(5 + x)
8) −6 x + 14 ≤ −4(1 + 6 x)
9) 28 − 7 x > −4(6 + 5 x)
10) −8 + n > −(1 − 2n)
11) −5n − 26 ≤ 6(−7n + 8)
12) 2v − 4 ≤ −4(1 + 8v)
13) 6n − 14 ≥ −2(n + 7)
14) 35 + x < −5( x − 6) − 7
15) −6n − (4 − 9n) ≥ 4(n − 5)
16) −2(1 − m) ≤ −4(−m − 8)
17) −12(−3 − 2r) < 7(r + 10)
18) −10(v − 12) < −10(−2v + 9)
Guess what, Tara, I fixed it! (10:28 p.m.) Mo ;-)

Homework for Monday, 12/14
Trans Math: Real Life Negatives B
*More real life (ha!) negatives, this time including some multiplication and division problems.
*Be sure to collect your signs ...
*Due Tuesday
Pre-Algebra: pg. 166, 27 - 38
*You MUST SHOW YOUR WORK (all of it ... write out the equations you use ... then solve them)
*We realize that the answers are multiple choice, but you will not receive credit if you do not have the "proof" as to how you came up with that solution. If it doesn't match, it won't count.
*Bring your questions to prep for the retest.
*Due Tuesday

Homework for Thursday, 12/10
Trans Math: Negative Division WS
*Using negatives in more complex division problems.
*Be sure to notice the value of your total when determining the median and mean of the application problems at the bottom of the worksheet.
*Due Friday.
Pre-Algebra: Check Teacherease; your test scores have been posted.
*Tomorrow we will be doing test corrections in class ... you need to take these corrections seriously. My take is that "dropping a negative" here and there is something most of you aren't worried enough about ... or drawing a graph backwards ... or remembering to flip the inequality when you are multiplying or dividing by a negative number, but ONLY by a negative number ... you get the idea.
*Please be prepared to REVIEW all next week.
*RETESTS will be in class next Thursday.
*Our RETEST policy will be altered for this test: You may retake any section of the test for FULL credit, but you will keep your NEW score for that section regardless of which score is better. So be prepared!
*It wasn't all bad, by the way, in spite of how the scores look overall. Most of you missed the details on page two and they added up quickly ...
Sleep well. This test is over and now you can focus on learning the material and doing better next time. Yes?

Homework for Wednesday, 12/9
Trans Math: Multiplying & Dividing Negative Integers
*Remember that 1 negative makes the answer negative, but 2 negatives make the answer positive.
*You should have received 1 of 2 worksheets:
- Multiplying and Dividing w' Negs (5)
or
- Practice ws 1.7
*Due Thursday
Pre-Algebra: CHAPTER 3 TEST TOMORROW!
*You should have chosen one of three worksheets from the back of the room:
- 3.6 practice, 1 - 14
- 3.6 practice, 15 - 26
- applications (various random numbers)
**Tara & Hannah: please complete pg 159 in the book.
*Remember this is worth 5/5 points if you complete it, correct it, make your corrections, AND turn it in on Thursday. If it is turned in later than Thursday, it loses a point per day.

Trans Math: 1.5 Practice worksheet
*Pre-algebra level adding with negatives!
*Apply the rules you know from the "easy" problems ...
*Due Friday
Pre-Algebra: pg. 151, 10 - 22
*******ALERT!!!!*******
*In spite of our problem-solving in class today, we wrote the inequality wrong to the problem we solved (#32: n/-3 is less than -6; solved in that n is greater than -18)
WHEN you are multiplying or dividing by a negative integer, if you MOVE it to the other side, the inequality flips as well. (Just like Tyler's dad said, so we're not firing him)
In fact, this is the solution we came to, then we still wrote the inequality incorrectly. Remember? We determined that positive 33 worked, but -33 did not ... and +33 is definitely larger than -18, yes?
Sorry about the confusion ...we will go over this in class on Friday. Period 4 addressed this today when I caught the mistake.
