Assignment: Negative Multiplication/Division Choice #1
Select from the following assignments tonight.
Please note that I have a link for "how to" multiply and divide negatives on the Mo'Help tab of this blog. Go there if you are already questioning what we learned in class today.
Your choices, in order of difficulty are:
*Negative Multiplication and Division Equations
*Negative Mini Ops
*Negative Ops +, x, ÷ only
*Negative Order of Ops A (all operations)
Yes, you can do more than one, but be sure that you feel prepared to to tackle the problems!

Assignment: Real Life Negatives C
We went over this in class today: you MUST write the correct equation in the order it is shown before solving. Your equation MUST be written as an addition problem and it must be solvable in the equation as you write it ... meaning parentheses are fine as long as they do not change the answer.
How you organize it to solve it and having the correct solution are the secondary parts.
Knowing how to set up an equation from verbal (written) information is super important!

Assignment: Negative Addition Choice #1
This choice should be based on your pre-quiz and your personal comfort with negatives in equations. Feel free to switch assignment, but make sure it is both a) challenging enough and b) good practice for you.
Remember to think about the value of the numbers ... we are just adding the two together!!!
*Negative Addition Basics
*Negative Addition - Big Numbers
*Negative Addition - Decimals
*Order of Ops with Negatives - Basics
*Order of Ops with Negatives - Option A
Due Tuesday
Addition War tomorrow in class ... arm yourself with practice!

Homework for Thursday, December 6
Assignment: The Other Side ...
You should have received your pre-quiz back during the CWP period today. Please do NOT worry about or correct the equations, those are simply to reference the areas that you understand and those where you need to work.
Your homework is "The Other Side..." also identified as the Discussion side.
Please answer the questions completely for full credit effort.
Do your best on the bottom section with central tendencies.
Due Friday
Sadie and Maggie, you cannot do this assignment tonight because it is connected to what we did in class today. You will take the pre-quiz when you get back, then complete the other side.
For those of you who left your pre-quiz at school, you will need to wait to do it tomorrow.

Homework for Wednesday, December 5
Assignment: Mystery Picture -
- Link to directions! -
I cannot upload the coordinate grid, but you can create your own on anky piece of graph paper. Make sure your "0,0" coordinate is in the center of the paper with at least 14 each direction on the x-axis and 20 each direction on the y-axis.
To read coordinate points, the first number represents the x (positive - right, or negative - left) and the y is the second number (positive - up, or negative - down).
Follow the directions. Connect points with lines and color as instructed.

Homework for Tuesday, December 4
Assignment: Battleship
Today you are to create your answer key for the Battleship game.
1) Plot any point using the 12 x 12 graph you received in class. Record that point.
2) Draw the diagonal lines that MUST bisect the corners of each box, meaning that they radiate from the points at 45-degree angles. These lines must be drawn straight, be accurate, and be in pencil or black pen.
3) Color the sections according to the key we will all be using: Blue = north, Green = east, Yellow = south, Red = west. You should have this key from the notes we took today.
You will be graded on the accuracy of your point, lines, and key.
Due Wednesday
*Jada, Kevin, and Cyrus: you cannot do this homework tonight without the proper paper. Just wait until you get back; this assignment is not time-consuming in and of itself.

Homework for Monday, December 3
Assignment: Real Life Negatives B - Link!
Same as last week, your task is to make sense of the problem and solve for the question. We're still not concerned with what it looks like in an equation, but we have practiced a lot of visual thinking lately. We will be seeing equations on worksheets soon ... don't rush it!
*When you get to the mean, range, and median questions (#5) use what you know about these terms to answer the question. Use the given VALUES ... . think of number lines and what the numbers represent, then what value the answer would have. Draw yourself a picture if you need to; you do have the tools to solve these, but you need to use them!
Be sure to write all of your work on the paper so I can see how you are solving them.
Calculators are not allowed; I'm hoping that goes unsaid. ;-)
