Assignment: Percent Applications - Link!
Today we talked about challenges and working through them.
Are these problems challenging? YES.
Can you work through them? YES.
Will organizing your work into proportions help? YES, YES, YES.
Think about it this way:
*what is your part?
*what is your whole?
*what is your part percent?
*what is your whole percent? (100% of the time)
*which of these is missing or, in other words, the question you are being asked?
Set up your work using labels, THEN solve. Once you see them in a proportion, you may be surprised at how quickly you know what to do next.
Remember: the numbers are secondary ... you have to set the problem up correctly or the numbers will be irrelevant.
