Assignment: Quizlet - Speed Fractions
Select one set of the following fraction sets on my Quizlet page to practice in Gravity mode for 5 minutes altogether. Set a timer and if you do something else for even a minute, be sure to add that minute back in. You MAY practice longer if your heart desires. ;-)
After you select Gravity but before you begin to play you will be asked what level you want to practice and that decision is yours, but I feel like "medium" is a great choice for most of you ... some of you are more than prepared for high! Be sure to remember to put the "/" in between your numerator and denominator as in 5 1/2 = 11/2.
-You may practice either of the following sets, but keep in mind they are not organized together unless you have created a folder specifically for them or alphabetize the list. Both options have "fractions" in their title and the sets you may select from today include:
*Fractions: Renaming Mixed to Improper (what we did in class)
*Fractions: Renaming Improper to Mixed
-When you have completed your 5 minutes of speed practice, you may use any of the usual ways in letting me know you have completed this assignment.
-This is a pass/no pass assignment, so please put solid effort into it for your own benefit.

Assignment: Haywire - Link!
The objective is to create a MAP that you can follow to answer the questions. In other words, you need a map complete with directional arrows and labels.
Then answer the questions and include the entire path the call must travel.
This accurate mapping is essential in our quest to accurately map Frodoland ... take care!
*note - Sylvia should say Shirley.

Assignment: Bingo Card
Today you received your Fraction Bingo cards. Unfortunately, there are no copies of this assignment online so you will need to pick up your card the next time you come to class. Notes for this assignment are:
*Fraction Cards must be colored neatly.
*Your choice of what fraction to color each circle is yours, but ...
*You may color no more than two circles as wholes and ...
*All equivalent fractions for your choice, up to a denominator of 12, must also be written next to or in your circles. Examples: 2/5 is equivalent to 4/10 (and vice versa). 1/3 is equivalent to 2/6 to 3/9 to 4/12 (all must be listed). 1/7 has no equivalent with a denominator of 12 or less.
Be sure to count the circles carefully; there are divisions from one whole to twelfths.
Due on Wednesday, January 30 so we can get to playing Bingo asap!

Assignment: Fraction Take-Home Pre-Unit - Link!
***FRONT SIDE ONLY***
This assignment is for you to wrap your head around fractions ... what is it that you remember, don't remember, never learned, and are comfortable with? This is a very self-directed unit for homework, and we will be spending our class time exploring HOW fractions are useful rather than on the basic arithmetic of them.
Anyway, this assignment is graded complete/partially complete/incomplete and it is not possible to get full credit if it is not complete by your math period on Tuesday. Make sure to answer every question, get help if you need it, but don't worry too much about "learning" it all by tomorrow ... that's what this unit is for!
Due Tuesday by the beginning of the period

Assignment: Negative Test Corrections
We went over very specifically how to do this in class today:
*please indicate yes or no for each section of retest.
*do not use, "I forgot" as a reason. Explain what you did or did not do.
Example: "I did not put a negative sign in my answer."
Your score for this assignment is based on the number of correct corrections you make. Be accurate! Ask questions! Get them correct!
Retest dates will be announced on Friday.

Assignment: Pre-Test Quizlet
The purpose of this homework is to get in those last supporting moments prior to Wednesday's test. Therefore, please submit (or turn in) your Quizlet homework PRIOR to the test.
Please label it "Pre-Test Quizlet" and practice whichever set will be most like to set your mind at ease.
Remember that setting the set names alphabetically will bring up all of the Negative sets together.
Due PRIOR to the test on Wednesday ;-)
*come relaxed, confident, and prepared to compute!

Assignment: Optional Choice
In preparation for the test next Wednesday, you know what you need most.
Feel free to download a worksheet you have not already completed and hand in for credit. Quizlet is another solid option; I plan to create a Negative Central Tendencies practice set today! (hope, hope, hope)
Opting to catch up on other work and/or not select any math homework tonight is perfectly acceptable. However, do whatever you need to feel prepared!
Option must be completed by Friday to receive credit.

Assignment: Comprehensive Review of Negatives - Link!
This is essentially test level material here, remembering that you are only "held" to testing at the 7th grade level. However, there will also be equations in each of the operations and some application questions. There will NOT be the equality (greater than/less than) questions or any definitions.
Use your notes if you need to!

Assignment: Negative Subtraction Choice
Whew! Today we learned and/or reviewed how to subtract negatives in equations. It starts out as a lot, but does become manageable ... eventually, you will forget it was ever difficult at all. But for now, if you are struggling, just take your time and LEARN it. Practice helps.
A: Negative Subtraction Basics - Link!
This worksheet gives you repetition. Get used to looking at the equations until they become familiar. Rewriting them all as addition problems will help.
B: Adding and Subtracting Integers - Link!
Throw in a bit of everything and practice the steps with larger numbers. Also included are longer addition/subtraction problems, but it's the same thing: simplify/rewrite then commute and associate!
D: Subtracting Decimals - Link!
Prefer to practice by using decimals? This worksheet will definitely test to see if you are thinking about this in the right way.
V: Subtraction and Variables - Link!
Don't let this worksheet deceive you, it's from the pre-algebra workbook and allows you to practice replacing variables in equations with negative values. You must write out each "new" equation for credit, along with the answer.
E: Order of Ops with Exponents - Link!
Eventually, we will all get here, but some of you are ready to practice this now. Be careful, show all of your steps, and simplify as you go!
Due Wednesday
*You are welcome, as always, to do more than one assignment and/or change which assignment you are doing.
*Jada, I suggest selecting option A tonight. ;-)
