Life Folder Assignment: Transportation Variable - Link
Of special note for this assignment is the fact that you do NOT need to have your variable total fall within your minimum and maximum guidelines. This is different than MOST of the other budgets you are completing in this project. MOST of the budgets REQUIRE that you fiddle around with the numbers and your purchases UNTIL you are within your budget guidelines. In the case of your variable transportation costs, you are now operating with the car you bought and the mileage you rolled and your family situation ... either you budgeted enough (whew!), you budgeted too much (in which case you can breathe a greater sigh of relief), or you budgeted too little (in which case you need to save elsewhere where you can) ... while still being within your minimum and maximum guidelines in those categories. This is a category where you cross your fingers and hope things work out in your favor. ;-)
*In case you are super interested in how I came up with the cost for charging your electric car, here is the statement and site I chose to use:
"If electricity is 12 cents per kWh — the national average — it would cost $3.48 to go 100 miles."
