a) You are to set up every single problem as a ratio: x miles/ y inches = 500 miles/1 inch
These ratios need to be visible in your work or you will not get credit for them.
b) You are to measure the lines to the nearest 1/16 of an inch. Be as accurate as you can be. Do not use centimeters. Convert your fractions to decimals using the conversion examples I gave you on the sheet or solve as a division problem. This is your value for "y."
c) You are not to use a calculator for this assignment. Do the math! Your answer to the ratio, x, is the mileage between each pair of cities.
