Assignment: Pre-Application-Test
Choice
We covered
four options today which were:
*Quizlet - options include all negative problem
sets; there IS a Real Life Negs set too.
*Write 6
“Real Life” application problems for Quizlet.
The problems
must include several different operations and may include more than one
operation. Problems involving central tendencies may be used as well. The
problems should not be “trick” problems, but can be “tricky.” None of the
problems should have the same numerical answer that already exists in the
current “Real Life Negatives” problem set. Please visit Quizlet to
determine the kind of problems that would belong in this set and to see what
answers have already been used.
Your
assignment should include the problems in written format (for possible
selection to Quizlet!), the equations , your work, and the correct solutions.
You need to have a parent or otherwise capable mathematician check your answers
and sign-off on them as well. Typing out your answers or handing them in
electronically (like an email attachment) is also acceptable.
*Negative
Subtraction worksheet
Many of you
felt good about the application section of the test tomorrow and chose instead
to work on your negative subtraction. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of
this worksheet as it is from a workbook.
Many of you felt good about the application
section of the test tomorrow and chose instead to work on your Order of
Operations. The title of the assignment is a copy of the worksheet.
Due Thursday
Come prepared as your best, relaxed
self tomorrow! The answer to the phone question is "No, you may not use
your phone for music." Not only are phones off-limits during school hours,
but there is no way of knowing what you are listening to (meaning the math
professor at the University telling you how to do the problems which, while a
very complex feat, would not be likely!). So bring your music IF it will help
you relax, but don't bring your phones.
